Seymour - Amelia "Minnie" McCowan

Mrs. Minnie Seymour, who has been ailing for some time, passed away yesterday morning at six o’clock. Mrs. Seymour was born in Butler County, Ohio. She came to this state about five years ago. Her maiden name was Alice Amelia McCowan. She married Walter Seymour in August, 1884, and has since resided in this city. She was about twenty-five years of age at the time of her death. The end was expected, as she had been ailing for about three years, though not so soon. She leaves four brothers and one sister to mourn her loss, one of whom is Miss Jessie Harris, of this city, the rest being in Ohio, except one, who is in Dakota. The funeral will take place tomorrow at 2 o’clock at the A. M. E. Church. Interment at Masonic Cemetery.

In speaking of Mrs. Seymour’s death it should of read, age 24 years, 7 months and 17 days, and she had four brothers and five sisters to mourn her loss, one of whom lives in this city, one in Dakota and three in Ohio.
